IM Inpatient Team Caps for 01APR to 07APR

Due to manning issues, we do not have enough interns to staff each of the 3 IM Ward teams with 2 interns per team. This will require us to adjust our team caps while still maintaining the full capacity of the IM Inpatient Service as a whole at 48 patients.

Because of this, for the week of 01APR to 07APR, these will be the team caps:

  • IM Red and Yellow (1 Resident and 2 Interns)

    • Increase team caps to 18 patients per team

    • Going into their Long-Call day, the DESIRED MAX number of patients after distribution of patients admitted overnight is 12 IF team censuses allow.

  • IM Orange (1 Resident and 1 Intern)

    • Decrease team cap to 12 patients

    • Going into their Long-Call day, the DESIRED MAX number of patients after distribution of patients admitted overnight is 6-7 IF team censuses allow.

    • For their Mid-Call day on Saturday, 05APR, when the Resident is off, Dr. Ezedi will come in and serve as the 2nd intern on that team.

  • As already is the general rule and recommendation, the oncoming Mid-Call team should, and expect to, receive the most number of patients admitted overnight.

Please reach out to me if there are any questions/concerns.
