Junior Hospitalist Day on Wards

Resident only short call day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

The ward resident will now carry the entire patient list of their respective team during their short call day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday (also known as “Junior Hospitalist Day”) effective 31JAN2025.

This day is meant to be challenging, but is designed to best prepare you to manage a heavy census during off-site rotations and while out in the fleet and allow you to practice more independently alongside your Attending. This is especially important since we have not had the traditional junior hospitalist IM Blue Team rotation this academic year due to staffing issues.

As always, if at any point the resident needs assistance, they need to communicate that to their Attendings for more assistance/support.
